When I saw McCall’s M781 pattern, it immediately reminded me of Taylor Swift’s Grammy gown. The super short miniskirt combined with the billowing overskirt is young, fresh and glamorous. Granted, I’m not young anymore but with a few modifications this gown will work perfectly for a spring charity event.
You don’t have to be an expert seamstress to make this dress as the design is simple and the directs are straightforward. Though I wouldn’t recommend this dress to a complete novice because of the amount of fabric required (roughly 5 yds for the overskirt).
